Who is the issuer of the Warehouse Money Visa Card and Purple Visa Card?

Warehouse Money Visa Card and Purple Visa Card are issued by SBS Money Limited.

Why are you closing the Warehouse Money Visa Card?

From 31 October 2021, we have made the decision for all of our valued customers to enjoy the benefits of a single credit card.

You and your Additional Cardholder will still get to enjoy a number of benefits, some of which are not currently available on your Warehouse Money Visa Card, but simply with a card that has a different look and colour.

I didn't apply for a Purple Visa Card.   

No, you didn’t and you don’t have to. We’re simply replacing your current physical Warehouse Money Visa Card with a Purple Visa Card. All of your account and customer information, including your card number and PIN, balance and credit limit will remain the same and will be moved over to the Purple Visa Card – essentially like if you were to request a replacement Card

Our Purple Visa Card provides you with more functionality and benefits than your current Warehouse Money Visa Card and we are excited to extend those benefits to you. These benefits include:

  • Long Term Interest Free finance at Participating Retailers
  • Earning Purple Dollars everywhere Visa is accepted
  • Redeeming Purple Dollars towards your purchases at Participating Retailers
  • Access to the current Purple Visa Card Promo: During the Promotional Period (Thursday 1st July 2021 to Thursday 30th June 2022), a 12 Month Interest Free Term will be automatically applied to any purchase totalling $300 or more on a single Visa transaction at any of our Participating Retailers. When will my Warehouse Money Visa Card stop working?

Your Warehouse Money Visa Card will stop working on 31st October 2021.

Will all my Card Account and customer information stay the same?

Yes, your existing Card Account information will remain the same, such as:

  • Customer Number
  • Account Number (CVxxxxxxxx)
  • WM Connect login Information
  • Credit Card Insurance (If appliable)
  • Your Credit Limit
Will my payment information change?

No, your payment information to us will remain the same, because your existing Card Account information doesn’t change. Which is:

  • Particulars: This is your account number
  • Code: This is your last name and initials
  • Reference: This is your 9 digit customer number.


However, once you’ve successfully activated your Purple Visa Card, please cut your Warehouse Money Visa Card in half (especially the chip) and dispose of it securely. Then if you have any direct debits and bill payments set up, you will need to update them with the new expiry date and CVV number on the back of the Purple Visa Card.

Will my Additional Cardholder get a Purple Visa Card as well?

Yes, your Additional Cardholder will also be issued with a Purple Visa Card.
As per our normal process, their card will be sent to the Main Cardholder's address.

What happens to my Credit Card Insurance?

Your Credit Card Insurance policy remains unchanged.

Though over time personal circumstances can change, so it’s important to review your cover to make sure it still meets your needs. It is important that you understand your policy and when you can make a claim. What dual benefits do I get for 6 months when using the Purple Visa Card?

When you use your Purple Visa Card between 1 September to 31 March 2022 you will get the following dual benefits:

  • 5% Discount at The Warehouse (instore or online)
  • Your current Warehouse Money Visa Card Rates and Fees will remain the same on your Purple Visa Card until your statement date in March 2022. Your statement date is when your Card Account was created for a Warehouse Money Visa Card (this is when you were approved for a credit card). Which is different for everyone, so please refer to the communication we sent you which has this date specified.
  • Long Term Interest Free finance at Participating Retailers
  • Earn Purple Dollars everywhere Visa is accepted
  • Redeem Purple Dollars towards your purchases at Participating Retailers

How long do I get the dual benefit?

The benefits of both the Warehouse Money Visa Card and Purple Visa Card will be available from 1 September 2021 to 31st March 2022.
With Christmas just around the corner, we’ve ensured that for the next 6 months, starting 1st September 2021, you’ll continue to enjoy a 5% discount at The Warehouse. As an added bonus you will also enjoy all the benefits of the Purple Visa Card. Refer to section "What dual benefits do I get for 6 months on my new Purple Visa Card" for further information.

When will the 5% discount at The Warehouse stop working?

Your 5% discount at The Warehouse will stop working:

  • on the Warehouse Money Visa Card from 31 October 2021; and
  • on the Purple Visa Card from 31st March 2022.
Why am I receiving all communication in Purple Visa Card brand?

From 31 October 2021, we have made the decision for all of our valued customers to enjoy the benefits of a single credit card.

You and your Additional Cardholder will still get to enjoy a number of benefits, but simply with a card that has a different look and colour.

Therefore, as a result, from 1st September 2021 we’ve started issuing everyone with a Purple Visa Card, which is why you’re starting to see the Purple Visa Card branding.

Is my credit limit the same as my Warehouse Money Visa Card Account?

Yes, your credit limit on your Purple Visa Card is the same as what you had on your Warehouse Money Visa Card. If you would like to change this, please:

I haven’t received my new Purple Visa Card yet?

This could be due to a number of reasons, such as:

  • Your Card Account is currently blocked, so we have placed a hold on it
  • Your Warehouse Money Visa Card is not active (this may be for a number of different reasons including if your card has been lost, stolen or permanently blocked)
  • We haven’t been able to reach you and verify your contact details
  • Your address details are for an overseas address, in which case, we don’t send cards outside of New Zealand
  • You have an existing repayment arrangement in place to pay off your Card Account balance,
  • Your Card Account is overdue, or
  • You haven’t used your card in the last year, so we’re not sure whether you want a Card Account with us.


If this isn’t the case, please call or email us and we’ll get this sorted for you.

Can I keep both a Warehouse Money Visa Card and a Purple Visa Card?

No, unfortunately you can’t. Your Warehouse Money Visa Card will continue to work until 31st October 2021. From 1st November 2021, only the Purple Visa Card will work – but you can continue to receive the dual benefits of both the Warehouse Money Visa Card and the Purple Visa Card until March 2022. How can I activate my Purple Visa Card?

To activate your Purple Visa Card - simply make a PIN transaction at any EFTPOS terminal or ATM. Please note, making a payWave transaction without a PIN or an online transaction will not activate your card. Your Card Number and PIN remain the same as your previous Warehouse Money Visa Card. If you’ve forgotten your PIN or want a new one, call our Customer Experience Team on 0800 801 808 or log into our online service centre - WM Connect. All your login details remain the same.

Can you tell me more about the Purple Visa Card?

Purple Visa Card is our flexible credit card. From earning Purple Dollars when you shop, to having the flexibility of accessing long term interest free finance for those larger purchase at our Participating Retailers.

Some of the benefits of holding a Purple Visa Card include:

  • Long Term Interest Free finance at Participating Retailers
  • Earn Purple Dollars everywhere Visa is accepted
  • Redeem Purple Dollars towards your purchases at Participating Retailers

Can this be a joint Account?

No. If you want your partner or spouse to have a credit card that’s linked to your Card Account, you can apply for an additional card.

If you’d like to have an Additional Cardholder on your Card Account, log into WM Connect and complete the online form or call us on 0800 801 808. Please note, you’ll both share the same credit limit.

When will I have to start paying the Purple Visa Card Rates and Fees?

You’ll continue paying the Warehouse Money Visa Card Rates and Fees until your statement date in March 2022. Your statement date is when your Card Account was created for a Warehouse Money Visa Card (this is when you were approved for a credit card). Which is different for everyone, so please refer to the communication we sent you which has this date specified. If you don’t have that communicate handy, then please email us on switch@purplevsia.co.nz or call us on 0800 801 808 to find out.

Then from that date in March 2022, only the Purple Visa Card Terms and Conditions, Rates and Fees and reward benefits will apply.

Will you do a credit check on me?

No. Unless you specifically request a new credit limit on your Purple Visa Card, activation of your Purple Visa Card doesn’t require us to complete a credit check.

Things to note:

  • If you have a balance owing on your Warehouse Money Visa Card, you may want to pay off your outstanding balance before your statement date in March 2022 (from which point you’ll begin getting charged the Purple Visa Card Rates and Fees on your remaining balance) and then request to have your Account cancelled.
  • If you don’t have a balance owing on your Warehouse Money Visa Card, send us an email at switch@purplevisa.co.nz before 1 September 2021 and we’ll action this for you.
  • Before we can close your Card Account, you'll need to repay any amount owing on your account in full.
  • You'll need to cancel any automatic payments you set up to pay your Card Account.
  • If you've authorised any sellers to debit your credit card, you'll need to make new arrangements with them before you close your Card Account otherwise the payment will be declined.
  • You'll need to pay us any Charges that are debited after the cancellation date too, if any Transactions or other Charges such as interest haven't been processed before then.
  • Cut your credit card in half (especially the chip).
I threw the Purple Visa Card away, because I didn’t want it. Now I’ve changed my mind. Can I get a new card?
